Two B4 wind water mills in the recreational green zone

Commissioned by Projectbureau Westergouwe and Aannemingsmaatschappij Van Gelder B.V., Bosman Watermanagement installed two B4 wind water mills in the recreational green zone of Polderpark Westergouwe. These sustainable and characteristic mills contribute to both water management and the experience of this newly developed nature and recreation area.

Flowing water for optimal quality and recreation

Projectbureau Westergouwe wanted to create flowing water in the green zone. This has two important objectives:

• Improvement of water quality. By keeping the water in constant motion, stagnation is prevented and the surface water remains healthier and clearer.
• Enhancing recreational value. Flowing water provides a playful and natural environment where children and families can explore, play, and relax. The watercourses thus form a lively addition to the polder park.

The B4 windwater mills use natural wind power to circulate the water.

A suitable design for the residential area

To ensure that the mills fit in well with the look and feel of the new neighborhood, both wind water mills have been given a matte coating. This allows them to blend harmoniously into their surroundings and form a subtle but characteristic element in the landscape.
