BCK pump

A sustainable relocation after nine years of operational use

Commissioned by the Waterschap De Dommel , Bosman Watermanagement successfully relocated the existing BCK pump from Leenderweg Pumping Station. The pump had been in operation for over nine years at its original location, where it was mounted on a wooden sheet pile wall. Due to natural wear and tear and aging of the sheet pile wall, inspection and maintenance of the pump became increasingly difficult and unsafe to perform.

From wooden sheet piling to robust concrete construction

Together with the water board, a future-oriented solution was chosen. The pump installation has been housed in a newly built concrete pit, which has significantly improved the quality of the entire structure. The rest of the sheet pile wall has also been replaced by a durable concrete version. This results in a longer service life, improved stability, and easier maintenance.

Extra protection thanks to an integrated weed screen

The new pit is equipped with a weed screen that stops large debris before it can reach the pump. This prevents blockages, reduces wear and tear, and ensures that the BCK pump continues to function efficiently and reliably.

Ready for the future of regional water management

With the relocation and reconstruction of the pump installation, Waterschap De Dommel once again has a safe, reliable, and maintenance-friendly facility. Bosman Watermanagement is proud of its contribution to modernizing the Leendersweg pumping station and strengthening water safety in the region.

Relocation

The Leenderweg pumping station shows that a pump can easily be placed in a prefabricated pit after a number of years of use.

The water board provided the design for the duckweed screen, and Bosman realized it.
