At Bosman Watermanagement, we work every day to strengthen and sustain the Dutch water infrastructure. A good example of this is our contribution to the renovation of Parksluizen Pumping Station in Rotterdam, a monumental pumping station that plays a crucial role in the city's water safety.
When it became apparent that the main pump's lower bearing had to be replaced, we knew that this would be a project in which precision, expertise, and good cooperation were essential. The lower bearing is located deep within the installation, which meant we had to dismantle the entire pump line.
Together with our partners, we:
There is a lot involved in projects like this, both literally and figuratively: from large hoisting operations to the technical optimization of components that function out of sight but are no less important.
Because Rotterdam cannot do without this powerful pumping station, we have installed temporary pumping installations in collaboration with the Delfland Water Board and other parties involved. These large pump units take over most of the work of the pumping station, so that the city remains assured of sufficient drainage capacity during the renovation.
The Parksluizen pumping station is not only functionally important, but also culturally and architecturally unique. As a municipal monument, it deserves a careful approach. We are proud to be able to contribute to the preservation and improvement of this Rotterdam icon.
Projects such as this one underscore what Bosman stands for:
reliable technology, careful craftsmanship, and strong cooperation with water boards, partners, and specialists.
With our efforts, we are ensuring that the Parksluizen pumping station is ready for the challenges of the future, so that Rotterdam stays dry, even in extreme weather conditions.
