We have recently placed a two-directional water pumping mill in Schipluiden, South Holland.

The structure of the mill was altered to allow the pumping of water in two directions; this way, it is possible to both drain and irrigate areas with water.

The two-directional water pumping mill can be applied to nature reserves with (artificial) wetlands to create breeding areas for certain bird species. After mating season, the area can be drained, and the grass can be mown.
